BLS for Healthcare Providers

  • Scheduled once per year, unless a large group requests training
  • $60 per student for class, course materials, and practical skills assessment; $25 for just practical skills assessment hosted by PCFD; $40 for just practical skills assessment hosted by provider

The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.

We typically offer the BLS provider course once per year on an as-needed basis. This is typically for new BLS providers. The fee is $60.00 for the class, which includes course materials and a practical skills assessment.

For recertification as a BLS Healthcare Provider, an online course is available on the American Heart Association’s website. PCFD can provide the practical skills assessment for re-certifications for a $25.00 per student fee when hosted by PCFD, or for a $40.00 per student fee when hosted by the provider.

Heart Saver/BLS Instructor Courses

  • Cost $150.00 per person – Cost includes your CORE instructor manual

The Instructor Course is a 2-day program designed to prepare AHA instructors to disseminate the science, skills, and philosophy of resuscitation programs to participants enrolled in AHA courses.

AHA instructors are the best tool the AHA has to fulfill its mission- to reduce disability and death caused by heart disease and stroke.  The more skilled instructors the AHA ECC Programs have, the more participants will be trained in CPR and ECC.  By increasing the number of bystanders prepared and willing to activate the EMS system and provide CPR, early defibrillation, and advanced life support, the AHA will be able to significantly reduce disability and death from heart attacks, cardiac arrest, and stroke.
