Confined Space Training

Several Park City Fire District Firefighters participated in a Confined Space Certification Course during the month of October. Confined spaces are defined by OSHA as a space with “limited or restricted means for entry and exit and are not designed for continuous occupancy.” Examples include tanks, pipelines, tunnels, and manholes. Working in confined spaces without the proper training can result in serious injury or death. With limited air supply and very little room to move, confined spaces can be extremely dangerous, even deadly, especially if you approach them incorrectly.

We would like to thank Weber Basin Water Conservancy District for allowing the firefighters to train at their facility, the Utah Fire Rescue Academy for completing their testing, and especially our own PCFD Tech Specialists that spend hours teaching this course.
