Mountain Top Drive Structure Fire

On July 28th at approximately 5:00am, PCFD was dispatched to a structure fire on Mountain Top Drive. When crews arrived there were flames showing on the back side of the large single family home.

All occupants and pets were evacuated safely. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire, ventilated and completed overhaul of the structure.

Engine 31, Truck 36, Medic Engine 37, Medic Engine 38, and BC 3 responded.

The fire was caused by oily rags. It is estimated to be $400k in damage.

“We want to remind people that oily rags have the ability to spontaneously catch on fire. It is important that they are disposed of properly which could be as simple as putting them in a metal bucket. Read and follow the directions on the stain labels.” Fire Marshal Mike Owens
