Notice: New Open Fire Ban in Summit County

The Utah State Forester will enact an open fire ban as of 12:00am on July 5th, 2017 in the unincorporated areas of Summit County. Open fires will not be allowed unless they are in approved containers. Gas fire pits are allowed and wood fueled fires are allowed in purpose-made containers. Wood fueled fires must be covered with a spark arrestor. Bonfires and open burning are not allowed. Campfires are still allowed in facilities designated for them in approved campgrounds, picnic areas, or home sites where running water is present.

Consumer fireworks, tracer ammunition, and other pyrotechnic devices, including exploding targets, have also been banned.
