PCFD Firefighters participated in a Trench Rescue Technician certification course.
Firefighters that are certified at the Trench Rescue Technician level will have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and skills, to construct size-up of collapsed trench, identify type and degree of collapse, implement trench emergency action plan, construct load stabilization systems, select appropriate PPE, lift load and gain access to patients, coordinate the use of heavy equipment and place shoring and shielding systems
