Message from Chief Emery
To the Citizens and Stakeholders of Park City and Summit County,
It is a profound honor to serve as your Fire Chief, leading the dedicated men and women of the Park City Fire District (PCFD). Every day, our personnel stand ready, committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of this vibrant community we all call home.
Our Commitment to Service
This year, the complexity of our work continues to grow, serving not only a rapidly expanding residential base but also millions of visitors who come to experience our world-class mountains and towns. Whether we are responding to a medical emergency, fighting a structure fire, mitigating a hazardous material incident, or executing a high-angle mountain rescue, our focus remains unwavering: providing the highest level of emergency service with professionalism and compassion.
We remain deeply committed to proactive public safety. This includes ongoing investment in specialized training for our crews—from advanced life support to wildland fire suppression techniques. Given our unique geography, the threat of Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fires is ever-present. We are continually working on preparedness strategies and public education campaigns to help every homeowner protect their property.
Partnering for a Safer Community
True safety is a shared responsibility. We are fortunate to live in a community that values preparedness and supports its first responders. I want to sincerely thank you for your commitment to safety, whether through participating in Firewise programs, checking your smoke alarms, or driving safely on our roads.
As we look ahead, we will continue to focus on maintaining a responsive and highly trained force while advocating for the resources necessary to keep pace with the needs of our community. Your partnership is invaluable as we navigate these challenges together.
Please know that the doors of the Park City Fire District are always open. We are here to serve you, and we welcome your questions, feedback, and engagement on how we can make our community even safer.
Stay safe and be well.
Sincerely,
Peter Emery
